Upgrades

Q: How does the upgrades system work?

A:

There are two types up upgrade that can be performed - Complementary Upgrades and Rebate Upgrades.

Complementary Upgrades

  • Minor upgrades (e.g. v2.0.1 -> v2.9.9) are free. To perform a minor version upgrade, go to your 'My Purchases' page, click 'View Products' against the required purchase, then click 'Upgrade to the latest product build'.
  • This point is applicable only for purchases of: DbCombo v1, v2, v3, QuickAdmin v1, v2 and ImageAdmin v1. These products all come with a complimentary upgrade to the next major version (e.g. DbCombo v3 -> v4). To perform this upgrade, go to your 'My Purchases' page, click 'View Products' against the required purchase, then click 'Upgrade to the latest product build'.

Rebate Upgrades

Rebate upgrades allow you to purchase a current product and get a discount (rebate) based on the product that you’re upgrading from. The value of the rebate is worked out using the rules below:

  • All upgrades within 1 month of purchase allow a 100% rebate of the original license cost.
  • Upgrades to a more expensive license of the same major version allow a 100% rebate of the original license cost.
  • Upgrades to the next major version (e.g. v4 -> v5) allow a 75% rebate of the original license cost.
  • Upgrades of 2 major versions (e.g. v2 -> v4) allow a 50% rebate of the original license cost.
  • Upgrades of 3 or more major versions (e.g. v1 -> v4) allow a 25% rebate of the original license cost.

To perform a rebate upgrade, simply go to your 'My Purchases' page, click 'Upgrade' against the purchase you wish to upgrade, and choose the product that you wish to upgrade to.

Important notes about rebate upgrades:

  • Only purchases with a single item in them may be upgraded using the rebate upgrade system. If you have a purchase with multiple products in it that you want to upgrade, please contact us, and we'll split it for you.
  • If the rebate is more than the total cost of the new license, the excess is lost and cannot be recalimed or used in another upgrade.
  • Only one item may be purchased when upgrading.
  • Rebate upgrade terms are subject to change at any time.
